HAIR CARE TIPS

PRE-INSTALLATION

All of our raw textures have been shampooed and conditioned before shipment. However, you may still wish to wash your hair extensions first before installation. Please be sure to comb through hair before washing as you would with your natural hair. Not doing so may cause matting.

INSTALLATION

Use the over and out method when installing your hair to ensure you are not sewing through the wefts. Sewing through wefts increases the likeliness of shedding. Although our wefts are machine made, we still advise that you care for them the best you can. Not required, but we recommend that you seal your wefts using a good quality weft sealant. This is especially recommended for curly and course textures, or if cutting wefts. After your install, brush your hair out thoroughly to remove loose hairs.

CURLY/KINKY TEXTURES

MAINTENANCE

  • Apply a moisture rich conditioner and comb hair, starting with the ends working your way up to your scalp
  • Leave Conditioner in for at least 15 minutes
  • Do not massage the hair as doing so will cause matting/tangling
  • Rinse thoroughly
  • Scrunch hair gently to enhance the curls
  • When damp, apply a dime size of an anti-frizz alcohol free hair serum. For kinky/curly textures, a curl cream may be used for a more tamed look
  • Let air-dry
  • Do not use oil based products or excessive products on curly hair as this will cause tangling
  • Be careful to use a paddle brush to brush or separate curls when dry
  • Important NOTE: Conditioner only wash (co-wash) is recommended 2-3 times per week
  • Important NOTE: Please ensure your curly/kinky textured hair extensions are moisturized as not doing such will cause tangling
  • Important NOTE: If there is a need to shampoo the hair, please ensure the use of a good quality sulfate-free shampoo

STRAIGHT/NATURAL WAVY TEXTURES

MAINTENANCE

  • Shampoo at least once a week using a good quality sulfate-free shampoo
  • Do not massage the hair
  • Rinse thoroughly
  • Apply a moisturizing conditioner and comb hair, starting with the ends working your way up to your scalp
  • Rinse thoroughly
  • Let air-dry

DAILY CARE

  • Brush or comb through to style
  • Apply an alcohol-free hair serum for shine as needed
  • If applying heat, please be sure to use a heat protectant to protect your tresses from excessive heat damage

BED TIME CARE

  • Before going to bed, braid your hair into one loose large braid and wear a satin scarf or bonnet
  • After waking up, undo braid and comb using a wide tooth comb (or paddle brush) beginning at the ends and working your way up to roots
  • Style as needed

LACE PRODUCTS (WIGS/CLOSURES/FRONTALS)

GENERAL CARE

  • Before washing any lace product, please ensure the hair is detangled and combed out prior to applying water. Not doing so may cause lace product to matte and tangle
  • Do not scrub, scratch, or pull hair at lace as it will cause knots to become loose and hair to shed
  • When bleaching knots, please be sure to consult a professional stylist. Over bleaching the knots will cause hair breakage and shedding
  • Use a good quality knot sealant to help prolong the life of your unit. These products act to "freeze" the knots at the base of your lace product to help to reduce and eliminate shedding.
